Privacy Policy I. Recognition of the Customer's Expectation of PrivacyWe recognize our customers' expectation that information provided to us by our customers or obtained by us about our customers will be safeguarded by us. This policy is intended to describe how we collect, maintain, disclose and dispose of customer information, and how you can choose how information about you is used by us. This policy may be amended from time to time at our discretion. Collection Information When you contact us about products and services, you may be asked to provide us with information about yourself and other relevant persons. This information is useful and allowed by law to administer our accounts and provide products, services, and other opportunities to you. You may provide information directly, for example, in a loan application, when opening a deposit or investment account, or by completing information requests, such as surveys, communications, check register forms, or order forms. We gather information about you indirectly through our experiences of doing business with you. Some examples would be loan balances, information about the products you purchase, your overdraft history, your payment history and credit card usage. We may also obtain additional information about your credit history from outside sources. For example, when you establish a loan or deposit account, we may obtain a credit report from a credit reporting agency. We obtain reports when you initiate a transaction with us for which we need to know your credit history or we need to review or collect an existing account. If you send us an e-mail message, we learn your e-mail address, as well as the information you provide in your message. III. Collecting Information on our Web Site When you visit our web site, we obtain data relating to which pages are visited. This information is only collected in the aggregate for everyone who accesses our site, and not on you individually. To enable customers to process transactions at our web site, we use technology called cookies. Cookies are small files that a web site installs on your hard drive. For certain applications, cookies are a requirement because they help protect the privacy of a customer's transactions, for example, by automatically terminating an on-line session if the customer forgets to log out. If you deny a cookie, you will be unable to process transactions at our website. Cookies cannot be used to capture your e-mail address, obtain data from your hard drive or gain confidential or sensitive information about you. When you use a link from our web site to go to another site, our privacy notice is no longer in effect. IV. Disclosure of Information About You Unless you inform us to share information, disclosures we make relating to information about you, your accounts, or transactions on your accounts are those that we are either required to make by law or are permitted to make by law. In general these are necessary for us to make in order to maintain, administer and service your banking transactions. Some examples would be as follows:

Any third party to which we deliver information must agree to keep the information confidential, except as necessary to perform the task for which the information was provided. If we decide to share your information with any un-affiliated company or we change the kind of information we share, we will inform you in advance. You will have an opportunity to opt out of disclosure when we notify you of any such disclosure plan. The companies to which we provide information could change from time-to-time. We will always notify you in advance before any disclosure is made to a company, other than those disclosures permitted or required by law and allow you the opportunity to opt out of the disclosure. When you no longer have a continuing relationship with us, that is when you do not have any active products or services for one year, we will no longer include information about you in our disclosures. V. Employee Access/Security Each of our employees is trained in our policies regarding the confidentiality of customer information in our files. Each of our employees understands that each has a role to safeguard your information. Our employees understand and appreciate the sensitive nature of the information provided to us by our customers and the priority we place on customer confidentiality. VI. Web Site Security The information you request from our website for your accounts can only be accessed with your personal identification number (PIN). It is your responsibility to keep your PIN confidential.
Do not disclose your PIN to anyone.
Our employees and associates will never ask for your PIN and cannot provide you with your PIN if you contact them.
Never write your PIN on something others may see.
Contact us immediately to change your PIN if you suspect someone has discovered it.
Information you submit to our website as well as information we send back to you while you are visiting our website is protected while passing through the Internet using encryption. Encryption is a method of converting information to an unintelligible code that is unreadable to anyone without the ability to decrypt it. Messages you send to us by e-mail are subject to viewing, alteration, and copying by potentially anyone on the Internet. We encourage you to send confidential correspondence through either the Postal Service or by using the telephone to speak to our employees. VII. Maintaining Accurate Information We strive to retain complete, accurate, and current information on our customers. Disposal of Information We retain individual records for different periods of time depending upon state and federal record retention requirements, internal risk management policies and need. Before we dispose of any record containing personal information relating to our customers, we will either shred the record, erase any personal information contained in the record, or modify the records to make any personal information unreadable, and will take all actions that we reasonably believe necessary to be sure that no unauthorized person will have access to your personal information between the period of our disposal of the record and its destruction. |
