First National Community Bank is proud to announce the addition of third generation owner, Scott Soderberg, to the FNCB family, effective July 1, 2018.
Following in the footsteps of his late grandfather, Henning Soderberg, and his father, and current Chairman of the Board, John Soderberg, Scott has served on the banks' Board of Directors for more than 6 years and has taken an active role in the communities First National Community Bank serves. Growing up in New Richmond, Scott's passion for giving back to the area, models that of his father, who has received numerous awards and accolades for his philanthropic giving over the years.
"I'm very excited to have the opportunity to return to my hometown of New Richmond and continue the community banking tradition of my grandfather and father. The present-day FNCB is the product of their dedication to the idea that a community bank and the personal service it provides is crucial to the well-being and success of individuals, families, and small businesses in our region. They've understood, as I do, that successful community banking is by definition a two-way relationship which benefits both the customers and the bank. My task is to make sure we stay true to that principle, with the goal of growing the bank to ensure we are safe, sound, and in a good position to be a partner in the inevitable economic expansion that awaits our region. I'm so proud to have been involved with the bank as a director for the last 6 years, and to now have the chance to join the day-to-day operations in time for FNCB's 100 year anniversary (in 2019) is a very special opportunity." Scott Soderberg
Since 1997, Scott has practiced law in his Minnesota based firm, Soderberg Law. He has been deeply involved in volunteering for youth and amateur sports organizations, in addition to, coaching football, basketball and baseball. Scott has served on numerous boards and aided in the efforts of fundraising in a variety of capacities. In his new role as Vice Chairman of the Board, he looks forward to continuing the family tradition of offering premium, personalized service that locally owned and operated community banks serve. Additionally, Soderberg is thrilled to be joining the team full-time at the height of the planning as First National Community Bank prepares to celebrate its 100 year anniversary in 2019!
Additionally, Libby Soderberg, John's daughter, as also served on the bank board of directors since 2012, making the family dynamic of community ownership and involvement as strong as ever. "For more than 50 years, this bank has been my home, and its people, as much of a family as my own," stated John Soderberg. "I could not be more proud to have both of my children, Scott and Libby, directly involved with First National Community Bank, in hands-on roles. As a parent, you wonder throughout the years if your own children will follow in the footsteps that you've worked so hard to make. Both Scott and Libby have built tremendous careers for themselves outside of the banking industry, and having them involved now in their individual roles is really a dream come true. It's a great feeling knowing at the end of each day that this bank will continue to be family owned and operated for years to come."
